Open Educational Resources (OER)

~ curriculum and other educational content that is available for educators to use and/or change and use and share.

 

Many institutions of higher learning [including MIT, Rice, Carnegie Mellon, Tufts, UC Irvine, Utah State, Universidad de Monterrey (Mexico) and University of Southern Queensland (Australia)] are providing course materials that can be rearranged/modified/customized by educators to meet their specific needs.

CURRIKI - community where participants can review, edit, revise, combine and use a variety of free resources and courseware in many curricular areas.

FreeReading -  open-source reading intervention program for grades K-1

HippoCampus - HS and lower-division college multimedia lessons correlated to major textbooks.

Free High School Science Texts - world-wide collaborative resource

CK12 - still in development. Will use Share Alike attribution licensing

The Orange Grove - directory of K-20 lessons designed by Florida educators

Wikibooks - free library of collaboratively-built educational textbooks
